Why did 8nOut show me a card or banner about my live match?
Every time you open 8nOut, or bring it back after switching away, it checks whether you already have a live match of your own running. If you do, you'll see two things: a small banner at the top of the Map tab for as long as that match stays live, and — the first time you land on a screen after that check — a card asking if you'd like to jump back in.
Neither one is new tracking. It's the same match you can already see on the live scoreboard — 8nOut is just pointing you back to it, so you don't have to go looking.
This only runs when you open the app or return to it — never on a repeating timer while you're already using it. Switching between tabs, or quickly moving in and out of 8nOut, won't repeatedly bring the banner or card back.
Worth being explicit about: this does not notify you outside the app. There's no push notification, and nothing appears on your lock screen. If your match is still live and you haven't opened 8nOut, you won't hear about it until you do.
Tap Not now on the card and it goes away for that one time only. Open or return to 8nOut again while the match is still live, and it offers again — it never ends the match, and saying not now doesn't stop you resuming from the Map tab in the meantime. The banner there keeps showing regardless.
Dismissing the banner itself, with the small ✕, works the same way — it's scoped to that one match. If a genuinely new match starts later, it gets its own banner; dismissing one match's banner never hides a different one.
If you happen to have more than one live match running at once — rare, but possible — both the banner and the card tell you how many, and take you to the same list you'd reach from the Live Scoreboard button, rather than guessing which you mean.
