Why did a moderator message me about my venue submission?
8nOut normally only lets connected players message each other. There's one narrow exception: a moderator reviewing a venue you submitted can open a real conversation with you about that specific submission, even if you haven't connected.
This only happens while your submission is pending review, or for 14 days after it's approved or rejected. After that, a moderator can't reach you this way at all — connecting normally is the only route left.
You'll always see who's messaging you and why. A conversation like this carries a banner naming the moderator, the venue it's about, and reminding you that you're not connected. Report and Block work exactly as they do with any other conversation.
Every time a moderator opens or sends a message this way, it's recorded — who, about whom, when, and why. That's the same accountability record described in the Privacy Policy's "Moderator access" section.
