Who can see the ladder standings, and what happens if I stop playing?
The standings board is visible to members of your own city's ladder — nobody outside it, and no other city's board. What it shows is rank, name, rating and when you last played — nothing more than that.
You can't challenge or message anyone from the board itself — tapping a row does nothing, on purpose. That's also why blocking someone doesn't take them off your city's board: the board doesn't check blocks, because there's no way to reach anyone from it in the first place. Everywhere else in 8nOut — messaging, connecting, challenges — blocking works exactly as you'd expect.
You'll be in one of three positions. Ranked and on the board, if you've played recently. Joined but not yet ranked, if you haven't logged your first match yet — play one with another member here and you'll appear. Or off the board for now, if it's been a while: 60 days without a logged match is what moves you off it.
Going quiet doesn't cost you anything. Your rating stays exactly where it was for as long as you're off the board, and one logged match puts you straight back at that same rating. Either way, you can always see your own current rating on your own profile, even while you're hidden from everyone else's view of the board.
