How does my ladder rating work?
Everyone starts at the same rating: 1500. From there, it moves with your results against other members of your own city's ladder — up when you win, down when you lose. It's a rating rather than a points total, so there's nothing to build up and nothing that resets partway through.
The size of the move depends on who you're playing. Beating someone rated well above you moves your rating more than beating someone close to your own level, and losing to someone rated well below you costs more than losing to someone near you.
It also settles down the more you play. Your rating moves quickly across your first several matches while it finds your level, then more gently once it has.
Any match you log with another member of your own city's ladder counts — logged by hand, from a live scoreboard, or imported from CueScore, it makes no difference which. A match against someone not on your city's ladder doesn't move your rating either way.
