Do I need to be good at One Pocket?
No. One Pocket has a reputation as a game for experts, and it puts people off before they have played a single rack. It should not.
Almost everything that makes the game good — the patience, the safety battles, reading the table two shots ahead — you learn by playing someone better than you and losing a few. Every strong One Pocket player in Europe went through exactly that. There is no other route in.
If you are new to it, say so in your bio. It tends to make players more likely to invite you, not less. An evening spent showing someone the game is a good evening.
There is a Fargo Rating on your profile and it is optional. Leave it empty if you do not have one, or would rather not show it. It is self-reported: you type it in yourself, and 8nOut does not verify it. Not sure of your number? When you add or update your rating, there is a link to look it up on FairMatch, FargoRate's own site.
When you open a player's profile, their rating is marked as self-reported and has a Verify on FairMatch link. The link opens FairMatch's search page, not a page for that player, so search their name there to compare. 8nOut never reads FargoRate's site.
One Pocket is a small world in Europe. Most people here would far rather play a keen beginner than nobody at all.
