When does an invitation to play expire?
An invitation to play that nobody answers doesn't sit there forever. It expires automatically 12 hours after the time it proposed to play — not 12 hours after you sent it.
That difference matters in practice. A Play Now invite expires 12 hours after you send it, since its proposed time is the moment you sent it. A same-day invite for later on expires the next morning. An invite for Saturday stays open right through to Sunday morning, however early in the week you sent it.
Suggesting another time resets the clock. Once you counter with a new time, the 12 hours count from that new time — not the one you started with.
Once an invitation expires, whoever sent it — or whoever last suggested a time — gets a notice that it wasn't answered. It also moves under Expired in your Challenges tab, in the same list as a declined invite, and you can hide it from there the same way.
This only touches invitations still waiting for an answer. Once someone accepts, declines, or you agree on a time, it's settled — expiry doesn't come into it.
